We have very exciting news!  Santa is coming to our open house on 12-18-2015 from 6:30PM-8:30PM!  Meet Santa and get your picture with this famous guy!  We will have hot chocolate and cookies!  check out our newly remodeled facility and talk to our director about our educational centers!

Check out our new pictures from a fun filled field trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium!  It was educational and fun!  Staff and kids alike had a great time and we got some great pictures! Thanks to all who participated. Family, friends, parents and especially the kids make this daycare and we all feel blessed!

We at Bon Air are excited to announce our first open house on 8-15-2015 from 1:00PM-5:00PM!  There will be lots of fun things for the kids to do.  Kids and adults alike can explore a real fire truck since our local fire company will be there to show off thier engine and support our open house.  there will also be a bouncy house, face painting, snow cones and digging for treasure.  Parents also have an opportunity to check out the remodeled facility and ask questions of our all new staff.  By the way, 75% of our staff are college educated.  Come visit the ALL NEW BON AIR CHILD CARE CENTER, LLC and have fun with us!

On July 23, 2015, the Carnegie Science Center came for a visit!  We learned about the word "biodegradeable" and then had time to sculpt using biodegradeable material.  After we finished our art work, we then sprinkled it with water to see what happens when rain hits a biodegradeable material.  It melted away into slime!  It was very educational and a whole bunch of fun!  Check out the photo album.

We had a wonderful field trip today to the fire hall.  The kids had a great time trying on the fireman outfits, sitting in the fire trucks and blowing the horns and whistles!  Also appreciated the lessons in fire safety and evacuation. Just want to thank the fire hall (Lower Burrell Company 3) for thier generosity and kindness.  We had a great time!

We are very excited to announce that we have a field trip to the local fire hall on June 4th at 10:30AM.  All children, siblings and family members are encouraged to participate!  We will be touring the fire hall, hopping into the seat of a real life fire truck and learning about fire safety!

We are also excited about the Pittsburgh Children's Museum visiting our center on June 25th at 10:00AM!  There will be a puppet show and magic show!  All siblings and family members are invited to come out and enjoy the fun!

Michele Konopisos became the new owner of Bon Air Child Care Center on 5-1-2015 and formed a limited liability company making the new name Bon Air Child Care Center, LLC.  Michele has a Masters of Art degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Masters of Science degree in Counseling Psychology.  She has been working with children and thier families since 2000 and has had her own oupatient clinic in Lower Burrell, PA and Greensburg, PA since 2005.  Before that Michele worked with adults with intellectual delays, and children with developmental delays, autism and behavioral issues.  It has been Michele's goal throughouit her adult life to make a difference in people's lives. 

Michele's reason for buying the day care:  "I love children, I love people and I love working.  These loves of mine drive me to want to improve people's lives in any way I can.  I find it very rewarding.  My hope is to take a good day care and make it into a fabulous daycare and educational setting!  I want to make it an environment that people want to come to, especially children, but also the whole family.  I want computers, classrooms, a beautiful nursery, lots of activities, lots of community participation, and outreach to local organizations that can help us to improve.  Not only that, I want quality staff that not only love children but love to come to work because it is a good place to be.  We have great staff now and we have begun to make changes.  The nursery is remodeled, cameras have been installed that parents are welcome to view at any time, we have summer activities planned, I bought the first computer and installed internet and this is just the beginning. 

Kim Serafini is my co-director and she has a dgreee in child development.  She is putting together a fantastic curriculum for the preschool classes.  We plan to run the classes beginning this fall.  Two and a half hours in the morning andf two and a half hours in the afternoon.  Three and four year olds will attend Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Four and five year olds will attend Monday, Wednsday and Fridays.  It is all very exciting!

This past weekend we were in the Memorial Day Parade and we will have a booth at Puckety Church in August.  We will be active in the community.  Keep watching for Bon Air Child Care Center, LLC!  Great things are coming to our children and we have lots to look forward to!
